Nifty Features and Organization Systems for Your Kitchen

Feeling inspired to tidy up and organize your kitchen? Do you want to remove the clutter from your countertop? How about reclaiming some space inside your cabinets to fit more stuff?


Whether you are remodeling, retrofitting, or cosmetically refreshing your kitchen, there are ways to incorporate some cool features in your new or old space!


Whenever I work with a client, part of my design process is to take inventory of the items that will be stored in the new kitchen. With my client's permission, I open each cabinet and drawer and take photos of what's currently stored. I create a list of these items, categorize them, and cluster them per station: prep, cooking, baking, breakfast, cleaning, storage, and miscellaneous. I take note of sizes, shapes, weight, and quantity. This process helps me while I am space planning, designing the configuration of cabinets, and specifying cabinet accessories. My clients know their spaces very well like the back of their hands, but with my professional guidance, I can introduce new features that can improve the functionality of their kitchens.


Here are some of the nifty organization systems that I have used in my previous kitchen projects:


BASE CABINETS:
